Security Forces killed 21 Tigers
Security Forces killed 21 LTTE terrorists in the last battle on the North. The Sri Lanka Security Forces proceed, causing staggering damages to the LTTE. In last few months SL Forces could achieve numerous tricky goals and liberate large area of LTTE.

Mines found in a search operation in Batticaloa.
Security forces have recovered some weaponry while a search operation held at Kaddaparichchan in Batticaloa. According to the security reports they could find 86 anti-personnel mines, explosive triggering devices, claymore mine, 01x 'Jonny' type pressure mine and few other accessories.

7,000 new men to be enlisted in STF
The Police STF is about to enlist seven thousand new men. There service will be caused to provide the security and restore civil administration in newly liberated areas in north.

Chinese power sets to fortify train service

The Kudawella fisheries harbor which was severely damaged in the 2004 tsunami has been reformed by Chinese financial provision of Rs 410 million. After the repair it unveiled today. The new fisheries harbor that is full of modern facilities, has the capability to anchor 500 vessels at a time.

Massive earthquakes have occurred in Japan (6.9 Richt:sc) and Indonesia (6.6 Richt:sc) around 6.30 am. Indonesia warned about a tsunami threat but it will not affect Sri Lanka.

Explosion in Mt Lavinia
Short while ago (around 8.00pm) an explosion has occured on the rail way track close to De-saram road in Mt Lavinia. Police is investigating the case. No injuries reported yet.

SL Air force has attacked the LTTE command and control center positioned 1 (one) kilometer to the west of Killinochchi around 6.45 this morning. It's believed that the center is frequently visited by Pottu Amman, the LTTE intelligence chief.

An armed gang has kidnapped three individuals in Pottuvil yesterday. According to the Police They had tried to abduct 4 (four) persons but one of them could escape them.

Air Force destroys LTTE aircraft - Mullaittiuvu [Updated]
Sri Lanka Air Force has shot down one of the aircraft belonged to LTTE terrorists this morning (Sept 9).
Air Force spokesperson Wing Commander Janaka Nanayakkara speaking to defence.lk said, the aircraft has been shot down in the Mualaithiuvu skies while running away following a failed mission.
He said Air Defence Radars have picked up two LTTE light aircraft while they were approaching to the Vavuniya area around 4 AM. Then the fighter jets launched from Katunayaka airbase, have intercepted the terror aircraft and destroyed one of them, he added.
Speaking further he said , the aim of LTTE in this air mission was to target the Vavuniya airbase. However, the terrorist have failed to deliver their bombs on the target , he added.
Meanwhile, Military spokesperson Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara said the terrorist have launched coordinated artillery attack at the Forward Defence of Vavuniya to support the attempted aerial mission. Troops have retaliated with heavy artillery and brought the situation under control, he added.
LTTE believed to have suffered heavy losses when Air Force carried out spoiling attacks at LTTE reserves in Kilinochchi during last couple of days. Army distroyed 1 of the 2 LTTE light weight air craft.
Army was able to distroy 1 of the 2 LTTE light weight air crafts which they had been using since 2006. The air craft was targeted and shooted down by sl airforce while retreating after the unsucessful mission.
